Electric RC Planes For Beginners

Electric RC Planes For Beginners

Rc Helicopter

If you are just initiated into flying radio controlled model airplanes then we suggest that you begin with electric airplanes almost ready to fly (ARF) or ready to fly (RTF).

Some of the planes listed below are supposed to be the best for beginners. Beginners need planes that are quiet and easy to control and the planes listed below are slow enough for you to react and correct in case you get into a bad situation while flying. They are ideal radio controlled airplanes for flying in your backyard or the park.

1.GWS Zero Fighter ARF Park Flyer

2.Cessna 182 Scale RTF 4CH Electric Airplane

3.Parkzone J3 Piper Cub

4.Firebird XL (More on Popular Firebird Electric Models)

5.Sky Angel RTF Electric 2Ch RC Crash Proof Plane

6.Hobby Zone Super Cub RTF Electric

7.RC Sonic Saber 2 RTR 2CH Electric Airplane

8. Begin-Air 4 Channel RTF Electric RC Airplane

It is strongly recommended that beginners start with electric powered planes as they are easy to control and relatively inexpensive, however if you are only interested in flying a nitro powered airplane and are ready to pay for it then the following models are the best nitro powered radio controlled airplanes. These planes provide a very stable flight and come with the radio system installed. These are the perfect models for beginners desirous of flying nitro powered RC planes.

1.Thunder Tiger Trainer MK 11 SC RTF(TTR4523F)

2.Hangar9 Alpha Trainer 40, RTF - HAN 2475

3.Hangar 9 Arrow 40 Semi-Symmetrical Trainer RTF R/C Airplane.

Following accessories are essential when starting with a nitro powered RC airplane.

Field accessory pack consisting a tote bag, glow plugs, four way glow plug wrench, glow plug igniter with a charger and a chicken starting stick (HAN STAR), and manual fuel pump.

Recoil fuel tubing (HAB 151), Standard fuel tubing (DUB 222), Fuel bottle cap fittings (DUB 192), Twelve' AA" size batteries (FUG 4), Nitro airplane fuel (POW 00037), Fuel line filter (DUB 162), and after run oil (PRA 7140).

A flight simulator is recommended to help you learn and get accustomed to the basic understanding of the radio controls and understand how your transmitter works. RealFlight's G 2 Flight Simulator w/Interlink Mode 2 is the best for beginners. You may also opt for RealFlight's G 2 Flight Simulator w/Interlink Mode 2, Or the RealFlight G3 R/C Flight Simulator & Hanger 9FS One with Mode 2 Controller.

Using an instructor will be even better if you are directly flying a nitro-powered airplane. Learning with an instructor is easier and faster, it also increases your comfort level and confidence. An instructor with a trainer system can be connected to a compatible radio. The instructor acts as a backup in case of tight situations and helps in avoiding damage to the airplane. Flying clubs or the Academy of Model Aeronautics is the best place to find an instructor.

Electric RC Helicopter - The Honey Bee King 2

Electric RC Helicopter - The Honey Bee King 2

Rc Helicopter

Once you get to the level of RC helicopter flight skills where the cheaper models don't have enough functionality for you, then it is time to step up to the more advanced models. When you do this, you enter into a whole new world of RC helicopter flight with a complete different set of skills to master. The higher end models don't just hover, turn left and right, and go up and down. They also have the capability to go forwards, backwards, and control the rudder, aileron, elevator, pitch and throttle. A lot of these controls can be new and mesmerizing, but don't give up, simply read you manual and practice, practice, practice.

Ok, so you are ready to move up, which helicopter should you go with? Well, by popular demand, i would recommend the Honey Bee King 2. These fun and feisty little RC helicopters are well known and are great for stunt flying once you have the acquired skills (for a visual example, do a search on YouTube.com for the "Honey Bee King", or check out the video on our site). The Honey Bee King 2 is an electric RC helicopter that comes ready to fly. This means that when you get it there is little to no assembly required. Simply charge your battery, read the manual, and get ready to fly!

What are some of the Honey Bee King 2's features? Well, for starters, it is controlled by a 6-channel remote system. This is one of the higher amount of channel capabilities on electric RC vehicles and has a PIT and PLT mode lock switch and adjustable knob. It has improved blades for superior lift, which have a pop off design that provides extra protection for crash landings. The CCPM mixing control system and collective pitch structure make perfect 3D maneuvers such as roll, inverted flight, and swoop flights possible. This 120 degree CCPM system provides precise movement if comparing with the traditional mechanical mixing since there are less linkage/push-rods in the helicopter greatly reducing its weight. It also features Bell-heller mixing, which greatly increases the sensitivity of the whole helicopter, and provides for great acrobatic response.

The equipped O-ring inside the center hub reduces oscillation of the main blades, and the powerful 370 super carbon brush motor used for the main drive makes the helicopter's flight more stable. The motor is powered by an 11.1v high capacity Li-Po battery, which holds charge for approximately 10 minutes of straight flight time. Another feature is the auto-rotation landing system, made of a high quality one-way bearing, which provides maximum protection from damage for your helicopter. The battery on the Honey Bee King 2 holds firmly in place and can be adjusted to suit your balance of flying. The tail rotor does NOT have a motor. Instead it is driven by a belt which helps to provide stable flight and low noise, and also prevents you from burning up tail motors. And lastly, it has a servo controlled rudder, just like gas helicopters.

How big is it? The Honey Bee King 2 is approximately 535 mm long (21 inches), 225 mm high (8.9 inches), has a flying weight of 470g (16.6 oz), is powered by a 370 super carbon brush motor, and has 4 - 8g servos and an outside piezo gyro.

What comes in the kit? There are two color options, white or yellow. The kit includes the Honey Bee King 2 electric RC helicopter (100% assembled), the 6-channel CCPM multi-functional FM RC Transmitter (remote, batteries not included), the Li-Polymer battery charger with Auto cut-off, a high quality 11.1v 1000mah Li-Polymer rechargeable battery pack, and the instruction manual.

Who should purchase it? This RC helicopter is perfect for people who want to move up from a 4-channel helicopter. It is also great for intermediate pilots or pilots who want to try inverted or 3D aerobatic flight. It is NOT a helicopter for a child.

To see a picture of the Honey Bee King 2, click on WHITE or YELLOW. Also, feel free to check out our other Electric RC Helicopters, or the video of the Honey Bee King on our home page

Radio Controlled Helicopters - What is Best Electric Or Nitro?

Radio Controlled Helicopters - What is Best Electric Or Nitro?

Rc Helicopter

RC (radio controlled) helicopters are quickly becoming one of the most popular hobbies for "boys." By "boys" of course we mean adults. We have all gone through Christmas when we were all envious of the toys that the kids were getting and have all been guilty of buying things so that we could actually play with them ourselves. Now, we finally don't have to make excuses anymore as RC helicopters are the perfect toy for us that we don't have to be ashamed of buying.

The fact is RC helicopters are more of an adult hobby than they are toys. After you start to look into the hobby, you will quickly realize it is quite complex and thoroughly enjoyable. There are so many varieties of helicopters available in both style and type. One of the first decisions you are going to have to make is if you want to purchase an electric or nitro powered RC helicopter. They both have great features and in the end, it all comes down to a matter of preference, exactly how much time you have to devote to the hobby, and how much you want to spend on your new hobby.

Before you actually go out and make a purchase, you should really make sure that this hobby is for you. Ideally, you have a friend or relative that owns one and will let you check it out and educate you all about it. If not, you can of course pay a visit to your local hobby shop that carries both types and do your research there. Then of course once you decide what you want you should always start your training with a flight simulator. Regardless of the route you go, this will give you a general idea of what this hobby is about and everything that you are looking for. In most cases, you will find that you are searching the internet or running out to the closest hobby shop and pricing out all the helicopter kits!

Electric Radio Controlled Helicopters present a great option for novice RC helicopter pilots. In general you will usually find that they are a little less expensive and require less maintenance than their counterparts. There is much less of an aspect of maintenance required with them also, therefore electric RC helicopters will take up less of your time. Another feature of electric RC helicopters is that they run much quieter than the nitro helicopters, but this may be a negative to some people. All in all, electric RC helicopters are a great way to start out in the hobby.

Pros of Electric RC Helicopters

o Cheaper start up costs
o Not a lot of maintenance
o Quicker power up
o You do not have to buy expensive gasoline for the engine
o Quieter operation
o Easier to operate
o Will generally be more powerful than a nitro RC helicopter

Cons of Electric RC Helicopters

o Shorter flying times
o Crashes can result in battery breakage which can be very expensive to replace
o Must charge battery between flights

Nitro Radio Controlled Helicopters tend to be a popular choice for the more experienced RC Helicopter pilots. Once you get into the hobby, you will find out why the nitro models can be absolutely addicting. Nitro models are more like flying the real thing. They operate on a petroleum mixture known as Nitro which creates an authentic sound that is actually quite exciting to a lot of enthusiasts. It is almost as though you are flying a real helicopter!

Nitro helicopters will also require a bit of maintenance after their flights, you will have to clean and maintain the parts and engine of the helicopter so that it won't break down on future flights. While this may be considered a negative for the casual hobbyist, this is part of the lure of the people who like nitro RC Helicopters.

Now they obviously run on nitro and there is no way to get around the cost of this. If you fly them on a steady basis, you could realistically spend well over 00 a year on gasoline. Compare that to the cost of about 0 for of a few good batteries for an electric RC helicopter and you can see how some people may find this reason enough to stay away from nitro RC helicopters. For the purist though, this is just a cost to be justified in order to have a more realistic flying experience.

Pros of a Nitro PC Helicopter

o More realistic flying experience
o Shorter time between flights
o Less damage usually incurred during a crash
o Longer flight times

Cons of a Nitro PC Helicopter

o Nitro can be very expensive
o Helicopters require more maintenance (enthusiasts find this is a lure to nitro helicopters)
o Power up time can be longer
o Most not as powerful as electric
o Require a little more knowledge to fly (i.e. combustion engine tune ups, etc)

When you initially look at all of the pros and cons of each type of RC helicopter, on the surface it may seem that an electric one would be much more attractive, but the more involved you become in the hobby, you will find that a lot of the features that may be considered as cons for the novice, are actually pros for the veteran pilot.

An honest recommendation would be to start out with a lower cost electric radio controlled helicopter until you get the hang of the hobby. As you get more involved, you will find that you will naturally purchase a variety of helicopters to fly and during that expansion, you can start to experiment with the nitro helicopters and get a feel for what is required in owning one of them.

You may find that you, like many enthusiasts, get hooked on the upkeep of the nitro helicopter just as much as the actual flying of it. As we stated earlier though, in the end, it is simply a matter of preference. Once you get involved in the hobby, you are more than likely going to make plenty of friends that are also involved in the hobby and you will have ample opportunity to try out more expensive electric helicopters and plenty of nitro helicopters to give you a better idea of what you will enjoy more.

Electric RC Plane - Pattern Flying 101

Electric RC Plane - Pattern Flying 101

Rc Helicopter

Are you looking for a challenging hobby that will take your mind off the stress of the 8-to-5 grind? The great thing about electric RC plane flying is that there are always new things to learn and new techniques to master. It's fun, too! Some hobbyists might be content with having just the basic skills that allow them to leisurely fly around. But if you want to continue improving and gain more challenging experiences, then you should definitely try out pattern flying.

Pattern flying brings a new dimension because you now have a very specific purpose when flying your electric RC plane. You'll become motivated to outdo your competitors and yourself when performing complicated maneuvers on your plane. It takes a lot of skill and discipline to perfectly execute a series of stunts and tricks, but nothing beats the feeling after you've done it perfectly.

In order to get into pattern flying, you need to have a firm grasp of the basics. You won't be able to move onto the more complicated techniques if you can't execute the basics flawlessly. Practice is essential to keep your skill-set sharp so always find time to fly your plane. Also, you will need to a more aerobatic plane than a basic trainer in order to be able to execute these stunts. Usually, the electric RC plane for pattern flying has an unconventionally long tail just for this. In fact, they are commonly referred to as two-meter planes.

Pattern flying is best for people who appreciate precision and perfection. Practicing on a flight simulator is a good way to learn the necessary skills without risking costly crashes. Fancy doing some intricate air maneuvers? If you have mastered the basics and are ready to be challenged, get yourself a two-meter electric RC plane today and good flying!

A Brand New Big Electric RC Helicopter - The Hurricane 550

A Brand New Big Electric RC Helicopter - The Hurricane 550

Rc Helicopter

Electric RC helicopters are becoming more and more popular everyday. However, one of their main criticisms is that they lack of big models. Most electric RC helicopters are of the 400 size, which are not even as big as .30 size nitro helicopters - the smallest kind. Electric RC helicopter pilots who wanted to fly bigger models had pretty much only one model to choose - the T-REX 600 which although performs extremely well, comes with a hefty price tag. Now, from the production line of GAUI, maker of many successful models such as the Zoom and the Shogun, comes another model to fill the void in the big electric helicopter market: the Hurricane 550. With a much lower price, the Hurricane 550 will undoubtedly provide pilots who want to try their hands on a big electric model helicopter with a promising alternative.

In The Box:

The Hurricane 550 comes as an ARF (almost ready to fly) kit and claims to be 95% pre-assembled from the factory. You still to install the radio receiver, servos, and the gyro - a task which usually takes at least an hour for beginners. Nevertheless, the main frame, the head set, and the tail come already assembled. The frame is made of a plastic composite material which is strong and durable. The way that each pieces are put together should is quite impressive. Although the model is pre-assembled, the manual provides a comprehensive instruction on how to completely rebuild it from scratch. This is very thoughtful as lacking these instructions would make extensive repairs a daunting task.

The canopy comes already pre-painted. For many people who painting is not their strongest trait, this canopy is great news. On the other hand, others who enjoy airbrushing their own helicopter may be less appreciative. On the quality side, it should be noted that the canopy is noticeably thinner than other models, making it more brittle-prone. However, its thinner canopy is a good weight-saver. This kit also includes a motor and a speed controller. The motor, the 800 KV outrunner, has been upgraded to generate less heat and consume less power.

As for the battery, the Hurricane draws its required 22.2 V from two 11.1V packs. Personally, I think this is a very smart way to implement its power system - unlike the T-Rex 600 which requires a whole new expensive battery pack.

The wooden blade that comes included with the kit is already sufficient. However, for modelers who would like something different, this model can take any blades that is suitable for a .32 size nitro helicopter; namely blades from the 470-550 size.

In Flight:

In flight the Hurricane 550 proves an able helicopter. Beginner to intermediate pilots should find that this model is great fun to fly, nimble and crisp. It is not as aggressive and the T-REX 600, but then again, you wouldn't want to push this model to fly out the most demanding 3D maneuver as the swash plate is made of plastic. As for the flight time, this model can stay in the air for 8 minutes of ordinary flight and 5 minutes of 3D flight. All in all, although this model doesn't come with the aluminum tails, carbon bodies, and the shiny accessories of the T-REX, it is definitely worth its price.

Rc Helicopter

Once you master the world of RC cars electric, it's time to move to the next level of difficulty. This is where the electric RC helicopters come in, and the Dyna Hawk GX is a great choice! Electric RC helicopters are the average level of difficulty and professional as they learn to take the time to fly like they do. During the flight is to take them some skills to be able to float in it makes it easier to take off, fly and land airplanes, RC electric. The entry into electric RCHelicopters are on a new level of fun in the RC world. Think about what is actually learned to do when you have RC cars. Of course you could go to compete professionally, and gas powered RC cars are a complete amateur, but it's a different world when you take them to heaven!

If you're ready, are in the world of RC flying sky road, it's time to collect the vehicle. My advice? The Dyna Hawk GX Apache helicopter. The Dyna Hawk GX is aelectric RC helicopter with all the flight functions of a real helicopter. It features the Apache battle helicopter's physic in a super lightweight airframe, duel propellers, and a flight stabilization system. It has the capability to fly up to 30 meters high and 20 meters distance from the operator for around 10 minutes, and boasts "real helicopter performance." Forward, up and down, left and right, altitude and rotor speed control, and revolutionary co-axial rotor technology make this one the most realistic electric RC helicopter first driven in more expensive gas.

What is coming? The Dyna Hawk GX is ready to fly. Only recharge and have fun! The package includes: Manuel instructions, remote control (8 AA batteries not included), 7.2 V RC battery and charger adapter (110 V, value $ 39.95).

Can I fly? Well, of course, it takes some 'getting used to, but with a little'Determination and patience, and some flying hours under his belt, you'll fight the models flying in no time! I would say that this particular electric RC helicopter is more for the 12 + year olds when you are looking for a gift for a younger child, there are more beginner-friendly models available for about $ 30.00 cost.

Electric RC Airplane - Practice makes perfect

Electric RC Airplane - Practice makes perfect

Rc Helicopter

Electric RC Flying a plane is a great, fun hobby but no one starts out as an expert. Learning to fly requires skill and patience, and beginners should expect to bring their aircraft to crash. Achieving a good flying skills requires the right aircraft for beginners and practice and more practice. Buy a training aircraft to fly with spare parts readily available and fly, fly. If he falls and breaks, just replace the parts. Internet and local hobby shops are great places to buy planes andParties.

RC Electric Airplane is a great beginner plane. If you have a ready to fly (or RTF) the purchase of electricity, all you need - is available in one package - model, remote control, rechargeable batteries and charger. Electric aircraft with less than $ 50.00 and go up in price to features such as power and acrobatic skills-based. Do your research before buying an electric RC airplane. Start with a simple, slow, stable model and work up to more advanced projects. To acquire skills to stay away fromfaster, more complex areas, as they can be much more difficult to fly and repair much more expensive. For many, a good first toy electric airplanes, because it is easy to fly, are pre-assembled and are very cheap.

The best way to learn to fly quickly and progress through practice. Education plays a key role in the development of a pilot. The beginner must learn not only how but also how to repair their aircraft to fly. How to improve the skills and knowledge increases, the pilots can pusha faster, more complex aircraft.

Electric RC Airplane - Learn to Turn

Electric RC Airplane - Learn to Turn

Rc Helicopter

Learning to negotiate without speed, maintains a steady climb and then run to completion, is one of the easiest skills that are developed for an aircraft to fly electric RC. The first corner you have to come after the aircraft has soared to a height workable. Climb up to the amount and level tops. Depending on your controller, you can only move the rudder at this intersection. If you have wings, you should be careful not easy by plane, but a mixtureto maintain small elevator lift at the same time more control.

Perhaps it helps to convert an electric RC airplane like driving a race car to think. A high-speed car not only rotate, but the peaks trace out the car and helps the bank around the corner. The plane does not move and shoot in a different direction, wants to ease around the bend. Keep in mind, and the whole process will get smoother and more professional. This is not NASCAR!You do not go your craft RC only fast and turn left. Let the throttle a little 'when you change and the process goes smoothly.

Healing take navigation to the left and right. Once you have developed some expertise in this area, take your plane on a day-ventilated and develop your skills in and out of all of the airflow. Keep practicing until you have learned, and then you're ready to try loops, rolls and even more elaborate maneuvers. Stick with itand soon advanced to do stunts with your RC electric plane!

RC Helicopter Frequently Asked Questions

RC Helicopter Frequently Asked Questions

Rc Helicopter

Newbie RC helicopter owners always ask lots of questions about their new toys, so I compiled this list of frequently asked questions for you RC helicopters! This should be a list of frequently asked questions answered almost all RC helicopters problems or concerns and help you find the best RC helicopter flying experience, hope that we can!

It 'hard to build a remote controlled helicopter?

The short answer is yes and no. If you are building yourHelicopter, you must assemble the pieces to make the helicopter, and the measurement set of connections and make sure everything is correct. There is usually no special effort, such as sandblasting, cutting or gluing, and if you are willing to be patient and follow the instructions that come with it, you can use your RC helicopter in only a handful of gigs assembled and ready to flying in no time.

They do not cost a lot?

It all depends on what kind of helicoptersand the necessary equipment with him. The cost of a basic setup between $ 0.30 550 - $ 750, while a turbine or a large electric RC helicopter can cost $ 5,000 0.90 setup, $ 10,000 or more. It all depends on what you want.

How fast can it fly?

The basic settings can reach 40-60 mph straight and level flight as top speed. Some RC helicopters that have been modified for racing known to reach speeds of 100 mph or more.

Aredifficult to fly?

In short, yes. In fact, they are known to experience the most difficult remote-controlled vehicles to control, but you can not go trying to learn to fly one. Anyone who has the determination and perseverance can learn to fly one. If you want to fly one just for the heck of it, then you will be able to do so much sooner than if you try to fly complicated flips and other maneuvers. The key is to only have fun with the learning experienceand the rest will come with time.

It takes time to learn to fly one?

Again, it all depends on what you want from this experience. Most people are able to base floats within a month or two to complete the practice 3-4 nights a week. Within 3 to 6 months, should be able to handle forward flight and turns the base. It could be a year or more to learn loops, rolls, inverted flight and other complicated maneuvers. Depends only on the wheel, your interests, such asAs you practice and your desire to learn, like everyone else.

RC Helicopters are dangerous?
